The M550 3 channel dash cam is built in Super Capacitor (Only has 1mAh Lithium Metal used to memory time). Providing a longer life-span than lithiumion battery dash cams in the market. No power pack or batteries.
So if you want to use parking mode you need to purchase hard-wiring kit with 3 wires, which is NOT included with the dash cam. If you have an external power bank, you could possibly use that as well for short intervals.

The Parking Mode of M550 Dash camera：
You can download the latest firmware from the manufacturer's website from the manual. Now our software engineer had updated this firmware, it has three different parking modes for you to choose：
1. Time-Lapse Parking Mode
2. Motion Detection Parking Mode
3. Collision Detection Parking Mode
We recommend that you choose Collision Detection Parking Mode, it is the best way to save the power of your car battery.
This function will ONLY work when AZDOME's 3-Lead Hardwire Kit is installed properly, the output current of Hardwire Kit needs to reach 2.5A. Then Select [Connected] and select parking mode. This parking mode has three options to choose from.
Time-Lapse Parking Mode:
1. When you turn OFF the car's engine and turn the key to the lock position. Then the camera will STOP the continuous video recording and it will go into the timelapse 1fps recording mode automatically.
2. Now while this timelapse is being recorded, If someone hits your car and if the impact reaches the set G-Sensor level, then the camera will stop the timelapse video > then it will start to record 1-min continuous video, save & lock that video in EMR folder > then return to recording the timelapse 1fps.
3. Now when you start your car for the next time, the camera will automatically STOP the timelapse parking mode. Then it will go into normal video mode automatically to start the continuous video recording.
Motion Detection Parking Mode:
1. When you turn OFF the car’s engine and turn the key to the lock position. Then the camera will STOP the continuous video recording and it will go into the motion detection mode and the camera will stay ON and idle, but LCD will be off after 1-min.
2. Now the camera will only record 30 seconds video when it detects motion in only front lens of the camera and then it will record until there is no more motion is detected.
3. Now while the camera stays in Motion Detection mode, If someone hits your car and if the impact reaches the set G-Sensor level, then the camera will stop the motion detection mode > then it will start to record 1-min continuous video, save & lock that video in EMR folder > then return back to the motion detection mode.
4. Now when you start your car for the next time, the camera will automatically STOP the motion detection parking mode, and it will go back into normal video mode automatically to start the continuous video recording.
Collision Detection Parking Mode:
1. When you turn OFF the car's engine and turn the key to the lock position. Then the camera will STOP the continuous video recording and it will go into the collision detection mode and the camera will turn OFF.
2. Now while the camera stays in collision detection mode, If someone hits your car and if the impact reaches the set G-Sensor level, then the camera will turne ON > then it will start to record 1-min continuous video, save & lock that video in EMR folder > then the camera will turn OFF.
3. Now when you start your car for the next time, the camera will automatically go back into normal video mode automatically to start the continuous video recording.
Note：AZDOME's custom-designed 3-Lead Hardwire Kit is required to use this new feature.
Steps to use AZDOME 3-Lead Hardwire Kit:
1. Please connect the red wire to ACC, the yellow wire to always powered, and the black wire to ground.
2. If the AZDOME hardwire kit is connected correct, find the "Park" menu in the menu, press OK to select connected, tick parking monitoring, and press the menu button to exit and save the settings
3. Once the car turns on ACC, it will automatically turn on, and once the car turns off, the camera will enter Time-Lapse Parking Mode / Motion Detection Parking Mod / Collision Detection Parking Mode automatically when hardwire the camera correct.
Tips:
1. No battery, it is built in Super Capacitor (Only has 1 mAh Lithium Metal Battery used to memory time). Please always connect Dash Cam to external power while it is in use, the output current needs to reach 2.5A.
2. Every AZDOME dashcam comes with an original AZDOME 64GB SD card in the packaging as gift. Class 10, U3 Speed SD Card for 3 channel dashcam is required. The SD card should be formatted as FAT32 [Windows] or MS-DOS (FAT) [Mac OS]. Max Support: 128GB.
3. Note that we recommend using AZDOME SD cards for optimal performance. Using third party SD cards can affect dashcam's performance and in some cases, force the dashcam to reboot randomly during recording. Be sure to format your SD card with your dash cam for the first time use. If you need one AZDOME 128GB SD card, not included in the packaging, search ASIN: B09K78CNM8
4. The length of original cable for rear camera is 6m/20ft, suitable for most types of cars. We also have 20ft 6 Pin rear camera Extension Cable. (Search ASIN: B09CVCWC2Q)
5. If you need to install the rear camera on the rear window of your car, we also have Rear Window Bracket for the inside of your vehicle. (Not included in the packaging, search ASIN: B09J54TB68)
6. 24-Hours Parking Monitor requires continuous power and AZDOME 3-lead Mini USB Hardware Kit. (Not included in the packaging, search ASIN: B096G6FKZP)
7. If no operation is detected after 1 minute, the device will enter screensaver mode. Press any button will reactivate the screen. If you don't need this function, you can close the backlight setting.
8. AZDOME provide updates for dash cam Firmware, and camera accessory. If you need it, AZDOME will help you.
